I first stumbled into a career working with C++ by developing embedded cell-site testing equipment for Qualcomm. Nowadays I'm working on the C++ data processing engine for a data analytics software suite called Alteryx.
When I'm not working, I liked to engage in eccentric hobbyist projects such as:
* Compiling C code into assembly listings with Godbolt's excellent Compiler Explorer, to cheat at the game Human Resource Machine
* Coding a Lisp-like interpreter in Golang (I was being lazy! I swear! Even though I probably spent most of the time working with Cgo interoperability to get a C-based parser combinator library to work in a Go project...)
* Designing a 16-bit ALU in Alteryx just to see the reaction of people at work
My goal for attending C++Now is to learn about new tips and tools for working with "modern" C++, and to meet people in the wider community.
